Taking a family vacation does not need to break the bank. There are many budget vacations that you can take this summer.

With money tight, it is important for families to be able to take vacations on a budget. Inexpensive vacations are possible with a little bit of research and creativity. More and more companies are coming up with cheap vacation deals and the possibilities are nearly endless.

Cheap Vacation Deals

When searching for a budget vacation, it is a good idea to search for some of the cheap vacation deals out there. Big name companies like Disney are offering budget family vacation options that are worth looking into. Likewise, you may be able to find great deals at hotels, resorts, cruises and other family vacation venues. As people are spending less and less on vacations, these typically expensive options are offering cheap vacation deals to increase up their customer base.

Budget Family Vacation Ideas

When looking for a cheap family vacation, it may be time to look closer to home. There are some great inexpensive vacation possibilities closer than you may think. With a little bit of creative thinking, you will be able to plan a cheap family vacation without sacrificing the fun. Here are a few ideas:

  • Pitch a tent instead of paying for a hotel. This allows you to pack your own food to cook over a grill or camp fire and will save money on both lodging and food.
  • Take day trips to various places within driving distance of your home. You can check out museums, science centers, national parks and other attractions that you can reach on a single tank of gas.
  • Camp out in your backyard. If you are really tight on money, consider a stay-vacation where you create your own fun in your back yard. Use trash bags to create a slip and slide, make smore's and tell ghost stories around a camp fire.

Discounted Vacations for Families

Look for discounts wherever you go to keep your vacation on a budget. Go in an off season to get a discount price for popular vacation destinations such as the Caribbean and the Bahamas. There may be deals on your hotel stay that provide a free night's stay if you pay for a certain number of nights. Never be afraid to ask if there is a discount that you can have. You may not receive one, but you may be surprised and save a bit of money in the process.

Inexpensive vacations are possible. Look closer to home and look for cheap vacation deals. Think outside the box and find a budget family vacation that everyone will enjoy, including your bank account.
