Giving each of your students a small gift this Valentine's Day does not have to be expensive.
Valentine’s Day is a much anticipated holiday for many children as well as adults. With a little bit of effort and minimal cost, you can give each of your students a little Valentine’s Day gift to make the day a little sweeter for everyone. Gift ideas can include candy, cards, and other simple gifts that are sure to thrill your students. Candy Gifts For Valentine’s DayPurchasing a bag of the Smarty’s candies can provide a relatively inexpensive treat for your students. Other sweet treat ideas include a chocolate kiss, and pinwheel mints. You can also purchase a box of candy canes to pass out, even though this is a common Christmas candy. When giving students candy for Valentine’s Day, remember to keep it small and not to give much, or you will have a sugar problem on your hands, which will negatively affect your classroom discipline. Valentine’s Day CardsEither purchase a bag of small kid’s Valentine’s Day cards, or make your own with construction paper. Although it will take more time to make your own, you can spend a lot less money doing so. Purchasing a couple of stamps from a craft store for use each year on your cards can be a small investment that will make Valentine’s Day card making simple and fun every year. You can then use these same stamps for your students to make their own cards. Other Gift Ideas for Valentine’s DayGoing to the craft store and purchasing some cute Valentine’s Day stickers can be a great gift for younger students. Each student can either choose a favorite sticker, or you can leave a sticker on each desk for them to discover in the morning or after lunch. You can also put together coupons for your students that allow a free homework pass or other grade saver. Adding a cute saying to the coupon will make it more appropriate for Valentine’s Day. For example: a coupon in the shape of a heart that reads “Sweet Heart Grade Saver, good for one free homework pass”. Be sure to provide your students some amount of time on Valentine’s Day, providing the day falls on a school day, to make and exchange cards with one another. By giving your students simple gifts on this holiday, you will be sure to thrill your students. By calling attention to the holiday instead of attempting to ignore it, you will likely have better luck focusing your students. You may also be interested in valentine's day activities for kids.
