» Feature Writer Barbara Pytel - so true

Dorit,
I enjoyed your article on teaching children a language early. I began school at the age of four knowing no English. I was fluent by the end of Kindergarten, have no accent, and 50 years later I still remember both languages although I rarely speak Polish. There was no ESL programming then so I sat, listened and learned.
Thanks for the great article.

Barb,
You're a true life story therefore of the importance of exposing a young child to a second language, no matter what. Sometimes however, such exposure comes at a cost of L1 interference as you pointed out.
This part scares me a bit.
Thank you so much for your response.
